Richard Avezaat is a partner in the practice group Building and Real Estate of AKD. Richard is chairman of the Bouw en Vastgoed section in Rotterdam. Within this practice group, he assists clients in complex real estate transactions, PPP constructions, DBFMO, project development, inner city redevelopment and litigates in these areas. Through his combined knowledge of construction and real estate and insolvency law, Richard is able to advise like no other in situations where (under) contractors, project developers and other players in the construction and real estate sector are in financial difficulties or have financing problems. Richard's specific insolvency law knowledge is constantly strengthened by his appointments as a curator in bankruptcy and administrator in surséances.
Richard teaches both internally and externally and regularly publishes, including in the Tijdschrift voor Bouwrecht. In addition, he is co-author for the SDU Insolvency Law Comments and author of "The Quality Account" in the series Studiepockets Privatrecht. Richard is a member of various internal and external industry organisations, including AKD Real Estate, the Association for Construction Law and the Association for Construction Law attorneys.
Richard successfully completed the Insolad/Grotius Insolvency Law programme in 2005 and is a member of the Specialization Association Insolad. In 2010, Richard completed the Insolad Specialization programme Financial Economy for Curators.
Richard Avezaat is als partner verbonden aan de praktijkgroep Bouw en Vastgoed van AKD. Richard is voorzitter van de sectie Bouw en Vastgoed in Rotterdam. Binnen deze praktijkgroep staat hij cliënten bij in complexe vastgoedtransacties, PPS-constructies, DBFMO, projectontwikkeling, binnenstedelijke herontwikkeling en procedeert hij op deze gebieden. Door zijn gecombineerde kennis op het gebied van enerzijds bouw en vastgoed en anderzijds het insolventierecht is Richard als geen ander in staat te adviseren in situaties waarbij (onder)aannemers, projectontwikkelaars en overige spelers binnen de bouw en vastgoedbranche in financiële moeilijkheden verkeren of financieringsproblemen hebben. De specifieke insolventierechtelijke kennis van Richard wordt voortdurend aangescherpt door zijn benoemingen als curator in faillissementen en bewindvoerder in surséances.
Richard doceert zowel intern als extern en publiceert regelmatig, waaronder in het Tijdschrift voor Bouwrecht. Daarnaast is hij mede-auteur voor het SDU Commentaar Insolventierecht en auteur van "De Kwaliteitsrekening" in de serie Studiepockets Privaatrecht. Richard is lid van diverse interne en externe brancheorganisaties, waaronder AKD Real Estate, de Vereniging voor Bouwrecht en de Vereniging voor Bouwrechtadvocaten.
Richard heeft in 2005 de Insolad/Grotius opleiding Insolventierecht succesvol afgerond en is lid van de Specialisatievereniging Insolad. In 2010 heeft Richard de Insolad Specialisatie-opleiding Financiële Economie voor Curatoren afgerond.
