Bart Roozendaal specializes in all aspects of Dutch Administrative Law, including the relationship between Administrative Law and Private Law. He is frequently concerned with the law on the liability of the government, including the unlawful act of government, planning damages and loss compensation. He is also concerned with the law of land-use planning and matters of public policy. In all these areas, he advises governments and companies in particular and frequently acts in proceedings before the Dutch civil court and the administrative judge.
Bart frequently teaches in the fields of public liability, procedural law and public order. He also publishes regularly in various magazines.
He obtained his PhD at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam in 1998 on the basis of a comparative legal research in the field of public liability law. The title of his dissertation was: "Government liability in Germany, France and the Netherlands."
In the Quote 'Best Lawyer Guide' Bart is mentioned from 2002 and the magazine Quote Pro (2004) called him 'smart, fast and super specialist'.
Bart Roozendaal heeft zich gespecialiseerd in alle facetten van het Nederlands Bestuursrecht, waaronder de verhouding tussen het Bestuursrecht en het Privaatrecht. Hij houdt zich veelvuldig bezig met het recht inzake de aansprakelijkheid van de overheid, waaronder de onrechtmatige overheidsdaad, planschade en nadeelcompensatie. Voorts houdt hij zich bezig met het ruimtelijk ordeningsrecht en vraagstukken betreffende de openbare orde. Op al deze gebieden adviseert hij met name overheden en ondernemingen en treedt hij veelvuldig op in procedures voor de Nederlandse burgerlijke rechter en de bestuursrechter.
Bart doceert veelvuldig op het terrein van overheidsaansprakelijkheid, bestuursprocesrecht en openbare orde. Verder publiceert hij regelmatig in diverse tijdschriften.
Hij promoveerde in 1998 aan de Erasmus Universteit te Rotterdam op basis van een rechtsvergelijkend onderzoek op het terrein van het overheidsaansprakelijkheidsrecht. De titel van zijn proefschrift luidde: "Overheidsaansprakelijkheid in Duitsland, Frankrijk en Nederland".
In de Quote 'Beste Advocatengids' staat Bart vermeld vanaf 2002 en het tijdschrift Quote Pro (2004) noemde hem 'slim, snel en superspecialist'.
