Harmke Willems graduated from Leiden University in June 2002. She has been working as a lawyer since 2002. Harmke has been working at Van Doorne since 2010. It is linked to the practice group Insolvency Law and National Law. Harmke deals within this group with insolvency law in the broadest sense of the word. It accepts appointments as curator in bankruptcy and administrator in surséances of payment of the courts in the Netherlands. She also advises on bankruptcies and the run-up to them. She also advises on restructuring .In 2009 Harmke completed the Grotius Specialization Training in Insolvency Law. She is a member of the Association of Insolvency Law Lawyers (INSOLAD).

Zij is verbonden aan de praktijkgroep Insolventierecht en Rijksadvocatuur. Harmke houdt zich binnen deze praktijkgroep bezig met insolventierecht in de ruimste zin van het woord. Zij aanvaardt benoemingen als curator in faillissementen en bewindvoerder in surséances van betaling van de rechtbanken in Nederland. Zij adviseert daarnaast rond faillissementen en de aanloop daartoe. Eveneens adviseert zij in verband met herstructureringen .In 2009 heeft Harmke de Grotius specialisatieopleiding Insolventierecht afgerond. Zij is lid van de Vereniging Insolventierecht Advocaten (INSOLAD).
