Jessica Engels finished her law degree at Maastricht University in 2006. She graduated in criminal law. Since October 2006, she has been a judicial official in training (raio). In this context, she works as a criminal attorney at the Haan Lawyers & Notaries on 1 August 2011.
Jessica has worked for more than 2 years (in training) as a judge in the criminal, civil and administrative law sectors of the Leeuwarden Court and over the past 2.5 years (in training) as a District Attorney at the district parish of Leeuwarden.
As a District Attorney, Jessica has gained experience in various criminal cases, including animal abuse, internationally organised drug trafficking, scams and violent crimes. In addition, she has a lot of experience in juvenile justice.
Jessica is part of De Haan Lawyers & Notaries' Criminal Law section.
Jessica Engels heeft haar rechtenstudie aan de Universiteit Maastricht afgerond in 2006. Zij is afgestudeerd in het strafrecht. Sinds oktober 2006 is zij werkzaam als rechterlijk ambtenaar in opleiding (raio). In dat kader werkt zij per 1 augustus 2011 als strafrechtadvocaat bij de Haan Advocaten & Notarissen.
Hiervoor heeft Jessica ruim 2 jaar gewerkt (in opleiding) als rechter bij de sectoren straf-, civiel - en bestuursrecht van de rechtbank Leeuwarden en de afgelopen 2,5 jaar (in opleiding) als Officier van Justitie bij het arrondissementsparket Leeuwarden.
Als Officier van Justitie heeft Jessica ervaring opgedaan in diverse strafzaken, waaronder dierenmishandeling, internationaal georganiseerd transport van drugs, oplichting en geweldsdelicten. Daarnaast heeft zij veel ervaring in het Jeugdstrafrecht.
