In 2002, Geesje Reitsma-van Riel graduated from Utrecht University, specialising in criminal law. Following her studies, she focused in particular on civil cases in a legal aid insurer, after which she switched to the Utrecht Balie in early 2006.
Since then, she has increasingly focused on the Law of Persons and Family, which is now her specialization.
In 2010 Geesje completed the Legal Specialization Training Family Law (JSOF). At the beginning of 2012, she will complete the Specialization Training in Separation Mediation (SOS) and join as a full member of the Association for Family Law attorneys and Separation Mediators (vFAS).
Geesje is a member of the:JCI HaarlemmermeerGeesje is part of the section "Personal and Family Law" of De Haan Lawyers & Notaries.
In 2002 is Geesje Reitsma-van Riel afgestudeerd aan de Universiteit Utrecht, met als specialisatie het Strafrecht. Na haar studie heeft zij zich met name met civiele zaken bij een rechtsbijstandverzekeraar beziggehouden, waarna zij begin 2006 de overstap heeft gemaakt naar de Utrechtse Balie.
Sindsdien is zij zich steeds meer gaan richten op het Personen- en Familierecht, welk rechtsgebied inmiddels haar specialisatie is.
In 2010 rondde Geesje de Juridische Specialisatie Opleiding Familierecht (JSOF) af. Begin 2012 zal zij de Specialisatieopleiding Scheidingsmediation (SOS) afronden en treedt zij toe als (volwaardig) lid van de vereniging voor Familierechtadvocaten en Scheidingsmediators (vFAS).
