Michael Gerrits has been a member of the Van Diepen Van der Kroef team since 1 July 2010.After obtaining his master's degree at the Vrije Universiteit van Amsterdam (graduation areas: Private and International Law), Michael Gerrits has been a lawyer since 1995.Michael's specializations are (European) product regulation and intellectual property (brand law, copyright etc.), including media and entertainment law (TV and film).Michael is even the established legal expert in the Netherlands in the field of CE marking (European product regulation).
Thanks to his expertise, Michael (among other things), commissioned by the European Commission, as an advisor to the government of one of the EU Member States, has been involved in the implementation of the European New Approach Directives (the Directives providing for CE marking) in the relevant national legislation.
Michael advises several Dutch and foreign multinationals in the implementation of the CE marking legislation, in particular in relation to the Working Conditions legislation, within the (existing) business processes.Michael also regularly acts as a (guest) speaker at courses, seminars and symposia (of which recently for Lloyd's Register Netherlands, Pilz Netherlands, D&F Group, VCA Netherlands, Clearmark, Tebodin and Stichting Watervoorden, the training institute for and through the water sectors) and has regularly written articles for various journals in the field of CE marking and intellectual property. Since April 2012, Michael has been a member of the NEN Standard Commission 40009 - "User Manuals" (revision NEN 5509). In addition to mastering Dutch, English, French and German perfectly, he understands above all the language of manufacturers, distributors, customers, employers, users, engineers and marketers.

Michael Gerrits geldt sinds 1 juli 2010 als een versterking van het team van Van Diepen Van der Kroef.Na het behalen van zijn meestertitel aan de Vrije Universiteit van Amsterdam (afstudeerrichtingen: Privaatrecht en Internationaal recht) is Michael Gerrits, sinds 1995, als advocaat werkzaam.De specialisaties van Michael zijn (Europese) productregelgeving en Intellectueel Eigendom (merkenrecht, auteursrecht etc.), inclusief media- en entertainmentrecht (TV en film).Bij vraagstukken op het gebied van CE-markering (Europese product-regelgeving) is Michael zelfs dé gevestigde juridische deskundige in Nederland.
Dankzij zijn expertise is Michael (onder meer), in opdracht van de Europese Commissie, als adviseur van de regering van één van de EU-lidstaten betrokken geweest bij de implementatie van de Europese Nieuwe Aanpakrichtlijnen (de richtlijnen die voorzien in CE-markering) in de betreffende nationale wetgeving.
Michael adviseert diverse Nederlandse en buitenlandse multinationals bij het implementeren van de CE-markeringswetgeving – in het bijzonder in relatie tot de Arbeidsomstandighedenwetgeving – binnen de (bestaande) bedrijfsprocessen.Michael treedt voorts regelmatig op als (gast)spreker bij cursussen, seminars en symposia (waarvan recentelijk voor Lloyd’s Register Nederland, Pilz Nederland, D&F Group, VCA Nederland, Clearmark, Tebodin en Stichting Wateropleidingen, het opleidingsinstituut voor en door de watersectoren) en heeft met regelmaat artikelen geschreven voor diverse tijdschriften op het gebied van CE-markering en intellectueel eigendom.
