Bas Vletter (1960), lawyer, is chairman of the company law practice group. He specializes in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, equity capital markets, stock market introductions, international and national joint ventures and private equity. As a legal adviser, he acted in various important private and public transactions, including the first successful hostile takeover in the Netherlands. He advised Apax in the acquisition of the multimedia group Versatel, the NYSE in its merger with Euronext and Bain Capital in the acquisition of Philips Semi Conducers together with KKR, Silver Lake, Apax and Alphainvest. He ran the London office from 2001 to August 2006.
Bas is a member of the International Bar Association (IBA), the Association for Trade Law and the Association of Securities Law. He is a lecturer and publishes on numerous company law issues, such as mergers and acquisitions of companies in financial difficulties, capital protection, protection structures, the thirteenth EC Directive, shareholder and directors liability, management buy-outs and leveraged buy-outs.

Hij is gespecialiseerd in ondernemingsrecht, fusies en overnames, equity capital markets, beursintroducties, internationale en nationale joint ventures en private equity. Als juridisch adviseur trad hij op bij diverse belangrijke private en publieke transacties, waaronder de eerste succesvolle vijandige overname in Nederland. Hij is docent en publiceert over tal van vennootschapsrechtelijke onderwerpen, zoals fusies en overnames van ondernemingen in financiële problemen, kapitaalbescherming, beschermingsconstructies, de dertiende EG Richtlijn, aandeelhouders- en bestuurdersaansprakelijkheid, management buy-outs en leveraged buy-outs.
