Bas Pinckaers graduated from the University of Amsterdam and University of California, Berkeley (LL.M). In 1996 he obtained his PhD on the dissertation 'From Privacy towards a New Intellectual Property Right in Persona'. Bas specialises in advising and litigating on intellectual property rights and unauthorized competition and their exploitation, for example through joint venture or licensing agreements. In this context, he has extensive experience in the field of more complex (cross-border) cases in the fields of patent law, trade mark law and counterfeiting of the appearance of products, as well as procedural enforcement aspects, such as the attachment of evidence and customs measures. Procedures relating to the infringement and validity of patent rights shall be conducted in conjunction with independent patent agents. He is a member of various national and international specialist associations and regularly acts as a guest speaker or lecturer.
Bas Pinckaers is afgestudeerd aan de Universiteit van Amsterdam en University of California, Berkeley (LL.M). In 1996 promoveerde hij op het proefschrift 'From Privacy toward a New Intellectual Property Right in Persona'. Bas is gespecialiseerd in het adviseren en procederen over rechten van intellectuele eigendom en ongeoorloofde mededinging en de exploitatie daarvan, bijvoorbeeld door middel van joint venture of licentieovereenkomsten. In dit kader heeft hij ruime ervaring op het terrein van de meer complexe (grensoverschrijdende) zaken op het gebied van het octrooirecht-, merkenrecht en de namaak van het uiterlijk van producten, alsmede de procedurele handhavingsaspecten, zoals het bewijsbeslag en douanemaatregelen. Procedures over de inbreuk op en geldigheid van octrooirechten voert hij samen met onafhankelijke octrooigemachtigden. Hij is lid van diverse nationale en internationale specialistenverenigingen en treedt regelmatig op als gastspreker of docent.
