Joost Becker has been a lawyer since 2005 and studied Business Law in Groningen. He focuses on Intellectual Property, Advertising Law and Internet.In his daily practice, Joost works on advising, litigating and contracting on European and Benelux trademark and model law, trade name law, copyright, portrait law, database law, domain name disputes, Internet law, E-commerce and Buy on Distance, misleading and comparative advertising, unfair commercial practices and press releases. He assists all kinds of entrepreneurs, from multinational to SMEs, but also guides individuals with consultancy, process and contract work.Joost is a lecturer in domain names, trade names and internet law for the CPO and Leiden University training student. He is a member of the Dutch Association for Intellectual Property, the Benelux Association for Brands and Models Law, the Association for Copyright and the Association for Advertising Law.In his free time Joost is an amateur astronomer and makes sketches of astronomical objects.

Hij focust zich op Intellectuele Eigendom, Reclamerecht en Internet.In zijn dagelijkse praktijk houdt Joost zich bezig met het adviseren, procederen en contracteren over Europees en Benelux merken- en modellenrecht, handelsnaamrecht, auteursrecht, portretrecht, databankenrecht, domeinnaamgeschillen, Internetrecht, E-commerce en Koop op Afstand, misleidende en vergelijkende reclame, oneerlijke handelspraktijken en perspublicaties. Hij staat allerlei soorten ondernemers bij, van multinationale tot het MKB, maar begeleidt ook particulieren met advies-, proces- en contractenwerk.Joost is docent domeinnamen, handelsnamen en internetrecht voor het opleidingsinstutuut CPO en de Universiteit Leiden. Hij is lid van de Nederlandse Vereniging voor Intellectuele Eigendom, de Beneluxvereniging voor Merken- en Modellenrecht, de Vereniging voor Auteursrecht en de Vereniging voor Reclamerecht.In zijn vrije tijd is Joost amateurastronoom en maakt hij schetsen van astronomische objecten.
