- Mr. President... W.J.B (Willem) van Nielen (member of the partnership) started his career as a lawyer at a medium-sized (60+) office in Amsterdam in the M&A and Venture Capital practice.
He has also spent a number of years researching and teaching students, banks, consultants and lawyers in the field of insolvency law and financing & securities at the Research Centre Enterprise & Law of Radboud University in Nijmegen. Mr van Nielen specializes in merger & acquisitions and venture capital transactions. He also regularly acts as a curator and assists directors and supervisory directors in restructurings, start-up operations, partnerships, directors' liability and corporate governance issues. Mr van Nielen has completed both the Grotius Specialization Training .Finance and Security as well as the INSOLAD/Grotius Specialization Training "Insolvency Law" .cum laude and is a full member of INSOLAD. Mr van Nielen is also a member of the committee set up by the Minister of Justice in 2007 to make recommendations to combat bankruptcy fraud and co-authors the recommendations to the Minister. He has several publications in his name and is editor of the law magazine in the field of corporate law and insolvency law and lecturer rights at the association for Credit Managers (VVCM) and regularly teaches to lawyers, consultants and banks.
Mr. W.J.B (Willem) van Nielen (lid van de maatschap) is zijn loopbaan begonnen als advocaat bij een middelgroot (60+) kantoor in Amsterdam in de M&A en Venture Capital praktijk.
Hij heeft tevens een aantal jaren onderzoek gedaan en les gegeven aan studenten, banken, consultans en advocaten op het gebied van insolventierecht en financiering & zekerheden bij het Onderzoekscentrum Onderneming & Recht van de Radboud Universiteit in Nijmegen. Mr van Nielen is gespecialiseerd in fusie & overnames en venture capital transacties. Voorts treedt hij regelmatig op als curator en staat hij bestuurders en commissarissen bij in herstructureringen, doorstartoperaties, samenwerkingsverbanden, bestuurdersaansprakelijkheids- en corporate governance kwesties. Mr van Nielen heeft zowel de Grotius specialisatieopleiding “Financiering en Zekerheden” alsmede de INSOLAD/Grotius specialisatieopleiding "Insolventierecht" cum laude voltooid en is volwaardig lid van INSOLAD. Mr van Nielen is tevens lid van de commissie die door de minsiter van Justitie in 2007 is ingesteld met de opdracht aanbevelingen te doen ter bestrijding van faillissementsfraude en is mede auteur van de aanbevelingen aan de minster. Hij heeft verschillende publicaties op zijn naam staan en is redactielid van het advocatenblad op het gebied van ondernemingsrecht en insolventierecht en docent rechten bij de vereniging voor Credit managers (VVCM) en doceert regelmatig aan advocaten, consultans en banken.
