About

Anthony F. Aiello was called to the Ontario Bar in 2019 and is the founder of AFA Law. He specializes in commercial real estate, commercial lending and corporate law, and acts for institutional and private lenders, borrowers, property owners, landlords and tenants.

A substantial part of the practice is acting as lender’s counsel on commercial mortgage financings secured by multi-residential, retail, industrial and mixed-use property, including CMHC-insured transactions. His advice addresses the proposed financing in the context of the lender’s commercial objectives and the particular property.

Alongside the lending practice, Anthony acts on the purchase, sale and financing of commercial and residential property, drafts and negotiates commercial leases for both landlords and tenants, advises private funds on investment and financing matters, and prepares the corporate agreements and estate documents that owner-managed businesses need.

He holds an LL.M. in Business Law from Osgoode Hall Law School and an LL.B. from the University of Birmingham, and is a member of the Toronto Lawyers Association.

His work includes commercial leasing , commercial property purchases and sales , and commercial mortgage financing .

In February 2024, Anthony authored a paper and presented on the relationship between lease damage and destruction provisions, insurance and indemnities at a Law Society of Ontario commercial leasing program.
