Geoffrey John Dashwood

A law practice like ours – rooted in the Beach like an oak on the Iroquois shoreline – is all about its people. Ours are consummately professional, yet entirely approachable.

Geoffrey Dashwood is a Toronto native. After graduating from U of T with an arts degree, he obtained his Law Degree from Queen’s University, and was called to the bar in 1986 – whereupon, having already worked many years part-time as support staff, he was officially welcomed into the firm as a principal.

Geoff lives with his wife Hevina, and sons James and John, in the old village of East Toronto in the Beach, or, if you’re being a particularly specific Beacher, a northern annex of the Beach. Here, he continues a family legacy of local, socially conscious involvement – in legal aid, youth sport, politics, and church.

Rajdeep Kanda (Rumi) is an Associate lawyer at Dashwood & Dashwood, providing practical, client-focused legal services in residential and commercial real estate, leasing, business law, estate planning, and family law matters.

She works with individuals, families, landlords, tenants, and business owners to guide them through important legal decisions with confidence. Her practice includes residential and commercial real estate transactions, leasing, drafting and reviewing agreements, business matters, wills and powers of attorney, and family law matters such as cohabitation agreements, marriage contracts, and separation agreements. She is committed to delivering clear advice, responsive service, and practical solutions tailored to each client’s needs.

Prior to her call to the Ontario Bar in 2024, Rajdeep completed her Articles of Clerkship at a downtown Toronto law firm, where she gained experience in complex civil litigation matters, strengthening her skills in advocacy and legal analysis.
