Laura Fernandez

Laura Fernandez is a Partner at Kinterra and is responsible for Portfolio Management and External Affairs. Ms. Fernandez serves on Kinterra's Sustainability Committee. Ms. Fernandez previously served as a Principal, Associate General Counsel, and Corporate Liaison for Environmental and Permitting at a large mining focused private equity fund, where she played a pivotal role in managing the execution of the firm’s transactions and overseeing key due diligence and value creation matters. Ms. Fernandez also led a group of environmental and permitting professionals with over 70 years of collective experience in the field. She oversaw the progression of the VCIs at the portfolio companies, helping to ensure their successful completion. Ms. Fernandez has led the permitting of several mines and large infrastructure projects and has also participated in pivotal regulatory and policy reform efforts across the industry. Ms. Fernandez holds a J.D. from the University of Ottawa and a Master’s in Environmental Law from Vermont Law School.
