Gavin Wood Freitag

Gavin first worked at Petrone & Partners as a student in 1986. After being called to the Bar of Ontario in 1993, he practiced with another law firm for a period of time and returned in 2007. He specialized in personal injury losses and developed a sub-specialty in traumatic brain injury and acquired brain injury litigation. He developed his practice into a multidisciplinary team approach in complex poly-trauma, orthopaedic injuries, and traumatic brain injury and neurofunctional loss claims. He worked closely with local and provincial counterparts and achieved significant awards on behalf of his clients. He had carriage of cases in most Canadian provinces and in several US states including California, Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and North Dakota.

Gavin also taught Civil Litigation at the Bar Admission Course for the Law Society of Ontario and has been a guest lecturer in Contract Law in the Business Administration Program at Lakehead University.

Gavin was raised in Thunder Bay. He and his wife Caroline raised their two sons here and continue to be active members of the community. Since retiring his practice, Gavin continues to offer his wealth of experience and knowledge to the practicing lawyers at the firm.
