Eric Frydman is an employment lawyer at Achkar Law, where he advises and represents both employees and employers across Ontario and British Columbia. Eric works on a broad range of workplace matters, including employment contracts and agreements, workplace investigations, wrongful dismissal, severance packages, constructive dismissal, discrimination, terminations, dismissals, and layoffs. His experience acting for both sides gives him a practical understanding of how workplace disputes develop and how they are approached from different perspectives.
Before joining Achkar Law in 2025, Eric earned his dual J.D. and M.B.A. from Osgoode Hall Law School and the Schulich School of Business, after graduating summa cum laude from York University. He has been called to the Ontario Bar and is a member of the Law society of Ontario.
Eric is the Founder and President of Jewish Lawyers of Canada, a national legal organization focused on community engagement, advocacy, education, and professional connection. Through that work he has helped bring together lawyers, judges, Members of Parliament, and community leaders.
Eric approaches employment law as work that is deeply personal for the people involved. A job is rarely just a paycheque, it is tied to dignity, stability, and security, and that holds true for the businesses building a team as much as for the individuals on it. He focuses on helping clients understand where they stand, make informed decisions, and resolve workplace issues in a fair and practical way.
Outside the office, Eric enjoys exploring Toronto’s neighbourhoods, trying new restaurants, cooking, cycling, and travelling, and he is an avid reader of history, politics, and current events.
