Ryan Blair Hunter

Ryan Hunter is a partner in our business law group. His practice focuses on the areas of corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and private equity and venture capital financings in various industries. Ryan’s practice also includes advising public and private company clients on ongoing securities and corporate law requirements as well as the preparation of various commercial agreements.

Prior to joining CP LLP, Ryan worked as an associate in both the Calgary and Toronto offices of a national law firm.

Ryan received his BA (Hons.) from the University of Guelph in 1996, his LLB from Queens University in 2000 and has subsequently completed the Canadian Securities Course. Ryan was called to the Alberta Bar in 2002 and the Ontario Bar in 2004.

With over thirty years managing commercial and family disputes, we are well positioned to give practical and sophisticated advice in managing claims against insolvent debtors and trustees in bankruptcy on a range of commercial and personal bankruptcy issues.

Some of our most noteworthy cases involve commencing and responding to appeals of trustees’ decisions, removal and appointment of trustees and advising on a host of priority matters.

We also have a wide range of experience in identifying claims that may survive bankruptcy and can be successfully commenced and in dealing with non-compliant debtors.
