Alan Gabriel James

Alan James is a partner in Gowling WLG's Toronto office and a member of the firm’s Private Equity Group. Alan works with a number of investment fund managers to form new investment funds of all types, including venture capital funds, private equity funds, infrastructure funds and real estate funds, typically with investors from around the world. Alan also represents Canadian pension funds, insurance companies and other institutional investors with structuring their fund investments both within Canada and around the world. Alan also assists sponsors and investors with co-investments and secondary transactions involving the purchase and sale of fund interests, in addition to other fund-related activities such as supporting the acquisition, financing and disposition of fund investments, establishing subscription-backed credit facilities and structuring carried interest arrangements.
