Alexander Karapancev

Alexander Karapancev is the founder of Karapancev Law, one of the GTA’s top criminal law firms. He is a tenacious advocate known for his attention to detail, masterful cross-examination skills, and unrelenting attitude in his pursuit of success for his clients. He has extensive experience representing clients in high-stakes cases, and has represented both individuals and corporations in criminal and regulatory matters. Mr. Karapancev’s top priority is to zealously advance the interest of his clients, from pre-trial negotiations with Crown prosecutors, to trials in front of judges and juries. Beyond the courtroom, Mr. Karapancev also sits on the Executive Board of the Ontario Bar Association’s criminal justice section. Known for his expertise in criminal law, he is frequently called upon by news outlets, including CBC , CTV , CP24 , and the Toronto Star , to provide expert opinion on legal issues.

After obtaining his law degree, Mr. Karapancev furthered his legal studies by completing a Master of Laws in Canadian Common Law at Osgoode Hall Law School. His extensive legal education and experience in the courtroom have allowed him to develop creative arguments and foresee triable issues that other lawyers may miss.

Prior to founding Karapancev Law , Mr. Karapancev practiced at a boutique criminal defence litigation firm in Toronto. Additionally, he served as a per diem Crown prosecutor with the Downtown Toronto Crown Attorney’s Office, which provided him with valuable insight into the prosecution of criminal cases. Throughout his years as a lawyer, Mr. Karapancev has conducted hundreds of trials, preliminary inquiries, and applications before the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Justice. He regularly represents individuals charged with serious allegations of fraud , impaired driving , sexual assault , drug offences , and other offences. He prides himself on the countless acquittals and withdrawals of charges that he has been able to secure for his clients. He has the experience, skillset, and vision to develop arguments that achieve favorable outcomes for his clients at trial, or persuade opposing parties to settle in the pre-trial phases of a proceeding.
