Karin Kazakevich

Karin is an associate in the Media and Entertainment and Corporate groups at Dentons. She is a trusted advisor to clients across various entertainment industries, providing strategic legal counsel on the development, financing, production, and exploitation of diverse film, television, and commercial media projects. Karin regularly acts for a broad range of clients, from independent producers to leading global studios.

Karin is recognized for her work on complex domestic and cross-border productions and entertainment financing transactions. She brings a commercially focused, practical approach to structuring and negotiating agreements across the full production lifecycle.

Karin has been recognized by leading legal ranking publications for her media and entertainment practice and is frequently invited to speak on industry-related topics. She is actively engaged in the legal and arts communities, serving on the executive of the Ontario Bar Association’s Entertainment, Media, and Communications Law Section and on the Board of Directors of Prologue Performing Arts, a charitable arts education organization, among other initiatives.

Before entering the legal profession, Karin gained hands-on industry experience working in live television and producing independent films, giving her a uniquely informed, industry-driven perspective. She joined Dentons as a summer student in 2019 and completed her articles with the firm in 2021–2022.
