Nicole attended York University , where she earned an Honours Degree in Political Science , with a Minor in Philosophy , and graduated on the Dean’s List . She earned her Juris Doctor from Queen’s University . During law school, Nicole participated in the Queen’s Prison Law Clinic (QPLC) , where she assisted federal inmates at Millhaven , Joyceville , and Bath institutions. This experience provided valuable perspective and propelled her into the field of criminal defense law .

Before starting her own criminal defense practice , Nicole articled at Lockyer Campbell Posner , a top criminal defense firm in Toronto , specializing in high-risk criminal litigation , criminal appeals , and wrongful convictions .
