Andrew Ernest Lahey

Andrew's practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, corporate finance and all aspects of corporate and commercial law.

He advises Canadian, U.S. and U.K. private equity firms, financial sponsors and other clients in connection with cross-border and domestic M&A, financing and other strategic transactions.

Andrew has specialized experience in multiple sectors, including technology, transportation, aviation, industrials, media and entertainment, manufacturing, defence, renewables and energy storage, retail, food services, waste management, leasing and lending, and real estate development and asset management.

Before becoming a Partner at Blakes, Andrew practised in the mergers and acquisitions and private equity groups of another Canadian law firm and, prior to that, the New York office of a leading international law firm.

Apollo Global Management in connection with various transactions, including its US$8.1-billion take-private acquisition of Univar Solutions, its US$6.3-billion take-private acquisition of International Game Technology's game and digital business and Everi Holdings, its acquisition of The State Group from Blue Wolf Capital, its strategic investment in T.D.
