Evan Morrison Linn

Evan * is an associate at Lenczner Slaght. His academic background is in philosophy, a discipline devoted to novel perspectives. As an advocate, he figures § there’s always a new way to look at a tough problem. Evan relishes the challenge of developing and executing a case strategy. In court, he turns research into action. He finds a strong argument and sees it out ‡ with creativity and determination. He knows that strategic thinking succeeds when the solutions aren’t easy. .

Evan’s diverse advocacy experience ranges from commercial disputes to construction matters and professional liability proceedings. He summered and articled with Lenczner Slaght.

Evan received his JD from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law in 2022. At law school, he was awarded prizes in administrative law, constitutional law, and legal theory, and participated in a legal clinic organized by the David Asper Centre for Constitutional Rights.

Before law school, Evan worked as an administrative assistant at a global law firm. He graduated from Yale University in 2018 with a BA in philosophy magna cum laude and with distinction.

Counsel to Nucro Technics Inc., a contract research organization, in bringing an application before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice challenging the constitutionality of amendments to the Animals for Research Act enacted by the Keeping Criminals Behind Bars Act.

Counsel to a general partner in successfully defending a partnership dispute regarding the validity of a capital call delivered by the general partner.
