Joy Mathews

MC Law is thrilled to announce that Joy Mathews will be speaking at North America’s largest condominium conference on November 13th and 14th, 2026. With over 3,000 guests attending this years condo conference, Joy will taking the stage for an engaging interactive session titled “Why Good People Make Bad Decisions: The Politics of Condominiums.” It is an interactive session exploring how group dynamics alter individual behavior, how personality types shift the balance of power in a boardroom, and why capable, well-meaning directors can collectively make decisions that none of them would make alone — plus what boards can do about it.

Following Joy’s successful launch of the first ever condominium law primer for the Law Society of Ontario, he will be continuing to marshal an esteemed list of speakers who will help contribute to providing insights and a better understanding to the evolving challenges of the condo world.

I’d like to sincerely thank you for running the AGM last Friday so fairly and smoothly, and, more importantly, for the excellent preliminary organization of the proxy gathering. I truly believe that we wouldn’t have the outcome we got if it weren’t for that. I think we all owe you a debt of gratitude for hopefully, getting our building back.

In my humble opinion, Joy Mathews was outstanding tonight! I personally enjoyed listening to, and watching him chair the meeting – I’m going to presume that he was in his element… You and your team are awesome!
