Eduardo Matos Oliveira

Eduardo represents clients in a variety of immigration and family law matters. His immigration practice includes complex permanent residence applications, inadmissibility matters and Federal Court litigation. His family law practice focuses primarily on complex equalization claims, alongside divorce, parenting, and child and spousal support matters. He takes a personalized approach to each matter, focusing on practical solutions that reflect his clients’ needs and priorities.

Eduardo is a co-founder and director of the Brazil Canada Bar Association (BCBA). He has served as an elected member of the Brazilian Citizenship Council of Ontario (CONCID) and serves on the Board of the Convida Brazilian Association. He also contributed regularly to the Jornal de Toronto, writing about legal issues affecting the Brazilian community in Canada. Eduardo is fluent in English, Portuguese and Spanish.

Eduardo holds an LL.B. from Recife Law School, one of Brazil’s oldest law schools, founded in 1827. He earned a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in Political Science from the Federal University of Pernambuco, Brazil, and completed an LL.M. at Osgoode Hall Law School in Canada.
