About

Steven McCutcheon is a graduate of Queen’s University (1979) and obtained his Bachelor of Laws from the University of Windsor (1985). He was called to the Ontario Bar in 1987.

Steven has travelled North America first with Holiday on Ice and then two years with the Ice Capades. He has practiced law in Toronto, Milton, Oakville and Burlington over the years as well as spending time with the Peel Regional Police Service and running his own sports car business. He was a founding Member of the Ontario Rental Housing Tribunal, adjudicating thousands of landlord-and-tenant cases over six years.

Steven returned to private practice in 2004. Since 2006 his practice has been restricted to family law. While Steven is a passionate advocate and excels in the courtroom, it is more important than ever to resolve family disputes in a sensible, efficient and cost-effective manner.

Negotiating a resolution of children’s issues, child or spousal support and equalization of family property are all important issues that can often be resolved with a comprehensive separation agreement.

With over 30 years of legal experience, from both sides of the bench, Steven is a strong advocate who has earned the respect of his clients, colleagues and the local judiciary.

Whether you are interested in entering into a cohabitation agreement, pre-nuptial agreement, Marriage Contractor or separating and/or considering a divorce, our firm can handle it all. We are here to help you during this very stressful time.
