Justin Thomas Morell

Justin Morell is an associate in Dentons' Ottawa office, practising in the Corporate , Securities and Corporate Finance , and Venture Technology and Emerging Growth Companies groups. He advises clients on corporate and securities matters, with a particular focus on venture capital investments and fund formations.

Justin works across the full venture capital lifecycle-from company incorporation and early-stage financing through to priced rounds and exits. He also has a keen interest in the formation, operation, and ongoing management of venture capital funds.

Justin joined Dentons as a summer student in 2022 and completed his articles with the firm in 2023-2024. During law school at Queen's University, he volunteered with the Queen’s Business Law Clinic, providing pro bono and low-cost legal services to startups in the Kingston area. He received several academic awards, including the course prize for the top mark in both property law and international commercial law.
