Lori Carolyn Nelson

Lori C. Nelson is a key member of the Firm’s Real Property & Development Practice Group, specialising in the area of Real Estate Development, specifically concerning foreign direct investment and the sale and acquisition of hotels, marinas, and resort and mixed-use developments and the purchase, sale, and financing of residential and commercial property in The Bahamas. She advises clients on and facilitates the procurement of regulatory approvals from the relevant governmental bodies.

Lori has worked on a wide range of commercial and probate matters, assisting clients with transactional and advisory issues as well as estate administration. She has also developed extensive experience in immigration law, advising both individuals and corporate clients on work permit applications, residency matters, and compliance with immigration requirements in The Bahamas.

Lori was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2005 as a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada and has been a Registered Associate with The Bahamas Bar since 2005. She joined the firm as an Associate in 2014, became a Senior Associate in 2018 and joined the Firm’s partnership in 2022. She is currently ranked as a ‘Next Generation Partner’ in the area of real estate and development by Legal 500 Caribbean and is praised by clients for her ‘exceptional level of service.’ She is also listed as a recommended lawyer in the area of corporate law by Legal 500 Caribbean.
