Valerie Chiewendu Nwaokoro

Valerie advises on all aspects of competition law, including merger review, abuse of dominance, joint ventures and strategic alliances, criminal and civil litigation, marketing and distribution practices, cartel investigations, and regulatory compliance. She also advises on foreign investment merger review under the Investment Canada Act .

Valerie joined Blakes as a second-year summer student in 2023 and completed her articles with the Firm in 2025.

Valerie is a member of the Ontario Bar Association and the Canadian Association of Black Lawyers. She is also a mentor with the Law in Action Within Schools program.
