About

David A. Beckett David was born and raised in Dundas, Ontario, where he grew up inspired by his father—a respected lawyer in nearby Hamilton. Following in his father’s footsteps, David pursued his education at McMaster University, earning an Honours B.A. in 1987, followed by a Master’s Degree in Political Science in 1988, supported by a scholarship. He later completed his law degree at the University of Windsor in 1994. David articled at one of Canada’s largest law firms in Toronto, gaining invaluable experience before joining Gowland, Boriss Injury Lawyers in 1995. He was called to the Bar in 1996 and has since dedicated his career exclusively to serious personal injury and long-term disability insurance litigation. Over the years, David has become a strong advocate for clients dealing with life-altering injuries, known for his meticulous approach and deep commitment to achieving fair outcomes for his clients. He has appeared as lead counsel in trials before the Ontario Superior Court and has represented clients at various administrative tribunals, including the Financial Services Commission of Ontario, the Canada Pension Plan Review Tribunal, and the Workers' Compensation Appeals Tribunal. David also brings extensive experience in mediation, motions, and applications, consistently working to resolve disputes in ways that prioritize his clients’ needs and recoveries. David is an active member of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association and the Peterborough County Law Association. He has also been involved in public service, including work with the Ontario Trillium Foundation as a Grant Review Team member. In earlier years, David was deeply engaged in both federal and provincial politics.
