About

Haritha Popuri is an Associate at OKT. She joins the firm after completing her articles as a Judicial Law Clerk of the Superior Court of Justice and the Divisional Court in Ontario. There she provided research and editing support for judges in a range of trial-level and appellate matters, with a focus on administrative law.

Haritha received her J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School. During her time there, she participated in the Anishinaabe Law Camp in Neyaashiinigmiing and the Kawaskimhon Aboriginal Law Moot. She spent her summers at Indigenous Affairs Ontario and Ecojustice Canada, furthering her interest in the intersection of environmental and Indigenous rights.

Prior to law school, Haritha worked as a parliamentary research assistant in Ottawa where she participated in the development of legislation concerning Indigenous child and family services and Indigenous languages. She is excited to be working on the other side of these issues at OKT, supporting communities as they revitalize their legal orders and exercise their inherent rights and jurisdiction.

Haritha also holds a B.A. (Combined Honours) in the History of Science & Technology and Religious Studies from the University of King’s College, as well as an M.A. in Theatre & Performance Studies from York University.
