About

Clément Stacey is an associate at Gowling WLG who advises businesses at pivotal points in a transaction: when a deal is taking shape, risk is being allocated, and timelines matter. With a practice spanning commercial real estate and regulatory compliance, he helps clients move high-stakes opportunities forward with clear, practical guidance.

Known for his thoughtful, outcomes-focused approach, Clément works closely with domestic and international clients alike across a wide range of commercial real estate transactions. These include acquisitions, dispositions, and leases, as well as transactions involving significant title issues, complex ownership and business structures, and unique commercial requirements.

To these areas, Clément applies deep experience across a broad mix of asset classes, including condominium developments, hotels, and industrial properties. He also brings valuable in-house perspective from a secondment with a large Canadian energy utility, where he supported the financing and long-term leasing arrangements required to advance renewable energy projects.

Complementing his real estate practice, Clément helps clients in regulated industries—including financial services, automotive, and technology—navigate federal and provincial compliance requirements. His regulatory experience includes mortgage brokerage and lending licensing matters, as well as matters concerning Canada’s anti-money laundering framework.

While completing his legal education in Canada, France, and the United Kingdom, Clément obtained a certificate from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst Military Leadership Development Programme.
