Brenda Elizabeth Blake

Brenda has extensive experience in all aspects of business and legal affairs for the film and television industry in Canada. Her business and legal affairs practice focuses on providing counsel to independent producers from the concept stage, through development, financing, production and distribution. Prior to starting her own practice, Brenda was Vice President of Legal and Business Affairs at Rhombus Media Inc. where she gained valuable experience working on feature films including treaty co-productions, documentaries, television series and one-off dramatic and performing arts productions, and distribution deals from the point of view of both producer and distributor.

Prior to Rhombus Media Inc., Brenda was Director of Business Affairs, Motion Picture Production at Alliance Atlantis Communications Inc. where she was responsible for financing and tax credits for all their feature films, many of which were international co-productions.

Brenda began her legal career at Astral Media - The Harold Greenberg Fund as Director of Business and Legal Affairs and so has an intimate knowledge of the financing of project development and production.
