Francis Lester Michael Van Dusen

Mike Van Dusen had a varied and diverse background before deciding to pursue a career in law. Mike grew up in the bilingual town of Aylmer, Québec. He worked in surveying on the LG2 Hydro project; as a restaurant manager; as a part-time French teacher; and as an editor for the Canadian Press before attending Ottawa University for both his undergraduate degree in Communications and his LLB.

Mike articled for a multi-service law firm in Ottawa and spent time in the family courts, criminal courts, and as a part-time member of the former Rental Housing Tribunal, all before narrowing his focus to insurance law.

After 15 years spent learning his trade with Goldberg, Shinder, Gardner, Kronick & Tavel, and Burke-Robertson, Mike opened the Van Dusen Law Office in 2001 in the village of Russell. Focusing primarily on his insurance practice, the rural location of the office helps clients avoid the hassles of downtown traffic, and allows the firm to provide experienced legal services at a reasonable price.
